This guide walks through creating an ad campaign from start to finish. The full setup usually takes about 5 minutes.

Step 1: Choose How to Run Your Campaign

Go to Ads in your dashboard sidebar and click Create Campaign.

You’ll first choose between:

  • Do It Yourself — you set track, budget, targeting, and creatives.
  • Done-For-You — managed service with campaign optimization and reporting support.

Step 2: Choose What to Promote

  • Spotify track URL — pasting a track URL auto-loads track name, artist, and artwork.
  • Spotify artist profile URL — promotes your artist profile.
  • DropTrack library — logged-in users can select an existing track from their catalog.

Confirm the preview card before continuing.

Step 3: Set Budget & Duration

Minimum budget: $50

You can use presets ($50/$100/$500) or enter a custom value. Daily budget is calculated automatically (for example, $100 over 14 days = $7.14/day).

Choose duration: 7, 14 (recommended), or 28 days.

Strategy

  • Steady Growth — even spend across the campaign.
  • Release Boost — front-loaded spend for launch windows.

Step 4: Targeting (Optional)

By default, Recommended Targeting is on. DropTrack applies audience settings automatically based on your track genre and performance patterns.

If you turn it off, you can set:

  • Countries
  • Genres
  • Similar artists

Step 5: Creatives

Choose one mode:

  • Auto-generate (default) — ad assets are generated after payment from album artwork.
  • AI generation — generate creative options before checkout.
  • Upload your own — use your own JPEG/PNG/MP4 assets.

Step 6: Review & Pay

Review campaign details, then complete payment.

Payment summary includes:

  • Your ad budget
  • Service fee (15%)
  • Pro bonus (+10%) if applicable
  • Total charged

What Happens After Payment

  1. Campaign is funded
  2. Creatives are prepared (if auto mode is selected)
  3. Campaign is submitted for ad network review
  4. Once approved, campaign status becomes Live

You can track status and performance from the Ads dashboard at any time.

Can You Edit After Paying?

Core settings (track, budget, duration) are locked after payment. You can still:

  • Pause/resume
  • Extend with more budget
  • Cancel a paused campaign
  • Promote again after completion
