Email campaigns are the heart of DropTrack. They let you deliver your music directly to industry contacts with personalized, trackable emails.

How to Create a Campaign

  1. Go to Campaigns in the sidebar and click Start Campaign.
  2. Step 1 - Select contacts:
    • Choose individual contacts, entire contact lists, or smart segments.
    • You can combine multiple lists for a single campaign.
  3. Step 2 - Compose your message:
    • Write a personalized subject line and message body.
    • Select a playlist to include with the campaign.
  4. Step 3 - Configure options:
    • Downloads - Allow or disable track downloads. Set a download limit.
    • Feedback - Require contacts to leave feedback before they can download.
    • Watermarking - Add unique, inaudible watermarks to each recipient's copy (Pro plans).
    • Password protection - Require a password to view the campaign.
    • Expiration date - Set a date after which the campaign link becomes inactive.
    • Scheduling - Schedule the campaign for a future date and time.
  5. Step 4 - Review & send: Preview everything and hit Send (or Schedule).

What You Can Track

After sending, your campaign dashboard shows real-time analytics:

  • Opens - Who opened your email
  • Listens - Who played each track and how far they listened
  • Skips - Tracks that were skipped
  • Downloads - Who downloaded your music
  • Feedback - Ratings, reviews, favorite tracks, and support level
  • Follow-ups - Contacts who re-opened or re-listened
  • Location - Geographic data for listeners

You'll also receive instant email notifications for opens, listens, downloads, and feedback.

Tips

  • You can also send campaigns without music - use DropTrack as a mailing list for announcements and updates.
  • Keep subject lines personal and concise - mention the contact's name or reference their area of interest.
