The AI Album Art Generator lets you create professional square artwork for your tracks and playlists using artificial intelligence directly from your track or playlist page.
Where to Find It
The AI Album Art Generator is available anywhere you can manage artwork on DropTrack:
- Track detail page - In the artwork section alongside Upload image and Choose from library.
- Playlist detail page - In the playlist artwork section.
How to Generate Artwork
- Open a track or playlist in your dashboard.
- In the artwork section, click Generate with AI.
- Describe the artwork you want in the prompt field. For example: "Dark moody hip-hop, abstract cityscape at night, deep purples and blues" or "Warm acoustic folk, sunlit forest clearing, earthy tones".
- Click Generate. The AI creates 2 artwork candidates for you to review.
- Choose the candidate you like and click Use as artwork to apply it immediately to your track or playlist.
Tips for Better Results
- Describe mood and genre - Include musical style, emotional tone, era, setting, or visual references.
- Mention colors - Add palette guidance such as "neon blue and silver" or "warm earth tones".
- Avoid requesting text or lettering - The generator produces visual artwork only; text and typography are not supported in the current version.
- Regenerate freely - If the first result is not right, refine your prompt and try again.
What Happens When You Accept Artwork
When you click Use as artwork:
- The selected image is saved to your DropTrack image library.
- It is immediately set as the active artwork for your track or playlist.
- You can reuse it for other tracks, playlists, or press releases through the Choose from library picker.
Deleting Generated Images
Generated images can be deleted from your image library at any time. Deletion removes the image from your library permanently, but it will not unset artwork already applied to tracks or playlists. Update those separately if needed.

A generation run is one click of the Generate button. Each run produces 2 image candidates for you to review.
Can I Use Generated Artwork Commercially?
Yes. Accepted images are saved as standard assets in your DropTrack library and can be used for distribution, promotion, and commercial release purposes. Always review the terms of service for any specific platform you are distributing to.
Does DropTrack Train on My Prompts or Artwork?
No. Your prompts and generated images are not used to train AI models.
Can the Generator Add Text to My Cover?
No. The current version generates visual artwork only. Text overlay is not available. You can add text using a separate image editor after downloading the image from your library.
