Protect your pre-release music from piracy and leaks by adding unique, inaudible watermarks to your audio files. If a track ever leaks, you can trace it back to the exact recipient.

How Watermarking Works

When you enable watermarking on a campaign, DropTrack embeds a unique, inaudible watermark into each recipient's copy of your tracks. The watermark does not affect sound quality, but it can be detected using DropTrack's tools.

Enable Watermarking

  1. When creating an email campaign, open the configure/options step.
  2. Enable the watermarking option when it is available for your account.
  3. Finish and send the campaign as usual.

Each recipient receives a uniquely watermarked copy.

Check a Leaked File

  1. Go to Tools > Check Watermark in your dashboard. This tool is available on eligible Pro Label accounts.
  2. Upload the file you want to check.
  3. DropTrack scans the file and reports whether it matches one of your campaign recipients.

Availability

Best Practices

  • Use watermarking for unreleased tracks, promos, demos, and sensitive campaigns.
  • Combine watermarking with password protection and download limits for extra control.
  • Avoid sending high-risk prerelease material to contacts you do not trust.
