An ISRC, or International Standard Recording Code, is a unique identifier for a specific sound recording. It helps track usage, reporting, and royalty collection across platforms.
Add an ISRC to a Track
- Go to Promotion > Tracks and open a track.
- In the track details section, find the ISRC field.
- Enter your ISRC code and save.
Use the official ISRC for that exact recording. If you upload alternate versions, remixes, or edits, those recordings may need their own ISRCs.
Why ISRC Codes Matter
- They identify a recording across distributors, streaming services, radio, and royalty systems.
- They help distinguish one version of a track from another.
- They are often required for commercial distribution and reporting.
Where to Get an ISRC
ISRCs are usually issued by your distributor, label, or an official ISRC agency in your country. DropTrack lets you store the ISRC on the track, but it does not issue official ISRCs.
