A Download Gate lets you give away your music for free in exchange for an email signup. It's one of the best ways to grow your contact list and get feedback on your music at the same time.
How to Create a Download Gate
- Go to Offers in the sidebar.
- Click Create Offer.
- Choose a unique shortlink for your offer.
- Select a playlist. If you don't have one yet, create one first from the Playlists page.
- Enable Require Email - When visitors try to download, they'll be prompted for their name and email address.
- Optionally enable Require Feedback - Visitors must rate or review your music before downloading.
- Click Save.
How It Works for Visitors
- A visitor clicks your shortlink.
- They can listen to your music in the web player.
- When they click Download, they're asked for their contact info.
- If feedback is required, they'll fill out a short form.
- Once complete, the download begins.
What You Get
- A new contact added to your DropTrack account (with the email they provided).
- Feedback on your music (if enabled).
- Analytics on activations, plays, and downloads from the Offers page.
