This guide walks you through the core DropTrack workflow: uploading a track and sending it to your contacts in a campaign.
Part 1: Upload a Track
- In your dashboard, click Tracks in the sidebar.
- Click Upload Track.
- Select an audio file from your computer. DropTrack supports MP3, WAV, and AIFF formats. You can also import from SoundCloud or add a Spotify link.
- Once uploaded, fill in the track details:
- Track title and artist name
- Genre, BPM, and key
- ISRC code (optional)
- Click Save.
Part 2: Create a Playlist
- Go to Playlists in the sidebar.
- Click Create Playlist.
- Give your playlist a name and description.
- Add your track(s) to the playlist.
- Upload album artwork (optional but recommended).
- Attach any documents (press release, EPK, etc.).
- Click Save.
Part 3: Send Your First Campaign
- Go to Campaigns in the sidebar.
- Click Start Campaign.
- Step 1 - Choose contacts: Select which contacts or contact lists to send to. You can also choose a smart segment.
- Step 2 - Compose your message: Write a personalized message. Select your playlist to include.
- Step 3 - Configure options:
- Enable or disable downloads
- Set a download limit
- Require feedback before downloads
- Enable watermarking (Pro plans)
- Set password protection (optional)
- Set an expiration date (optional)
- Schedule for a future date/time (optional)
- Step 4 - Review & send: Preview your campaign and hit Send!
What Happens Next
After sending, you'll see real-time analytics on your campaign page:
- Who opened your email
- Who listened to each track (and how far)
- Who downloaded your music
- Feedback and ratings from your contacts
- Geographic location of listeners
You'll also receive email notifications for key actions like listens, downloads, and feedback.
